Well we don't see these everyday! For your consideration is a vintage 1963 USA Fender Precision Bass P-bass in natural. This one is very much the real deal.
This one has been well loved and well worn throughout the decades, but it is still alive and kickin' with plenty of life and gigs left in it.
The bass has had a natural refinish that was thorough, as well as a professional re-fret.
All the electronics (including the pickup) are original, except for the re-fret and the tone pot, which was replaced in 1971.
The headstock looks great, tuners work as they should. The new frets breathe decades of life back into the bass and fretboard is in REMARKABLY clean condition, especially given the age of the instrument. The back of the neck is worn in, giving you that "just right" feel. Body has plenty of nicks and dings as pictured, but nothing detrimental.
The bass plays smoothly, as you'd expect. It also sounds exactly like it should, it has "that" P-bass tone that has been around forever. This one does not disappoint!
The pickguard is not original, but the original is included. It has shrunken over time, which is incredibly common from that period. Also included is an older strap and a cable.
Also worth mentioning is the case...a 70's Fender hardshell case. So although not original, it is an incredible upgrade that fits the bass perfectly.
Weighs at 8 pounds, 7 ounces.
